Reboot and Reuse: Donate Tech, Empower Kids' Coding Skills
As the new school year approaches, SteamRocket, a nonprofit dedicated to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) education, is excited to announce the Reboot and Reuse Tech Drive to collect used laptops, Chromebooks, and tablets. SteamRocket is seeking donations of gently used technology to be repurposed as educational tools for children across the valley to learn how to code.
With students receiving new tech for the school year, SteamRocket aims to give their old devices a new life. The donated devices will be used in coding workshops designed to teach kids from Desert Hot Springs to Mecca the basics of coding and digital literacy.
"Technology is a powerful tool for education, but not every child has access to it," said Justin Decker, Co-Founder of SteamRocket. "By donating your old devices, you can help us bridge this gap and provide valuable learning opportunities for kids throughout the Coachella Valley."
As a nonprofit organization, SteamRocket relies on community support to deliver its programs. The Reboot and Reuse Tech Drive is essential to their mission to empower the next generation with the skills they need to succeed in a digital world.
Donations can be brought to Little Street Music Hall on June 27th between 10 am and 12 pm. All donations are tax-deductible, providing an added incentive for those looking to contribute to this worthy cause.
"Every donation makes a difference," added Decker. "Your old laptop or tablet could be the key to unlocking a child's potential in coding and technology. We're grateful for the community's support in helping us achieve our mission."
SteamRocket's coding workshops aim to provide children with hands-on experience in coding, fostering creativity, problem-solving skills, and a passion for technology. By supporting this tech drive, donors will directly impact the lives of young learners in the Coachella Valley.
